Richy Mate i don't know how long you've been around this site. But this is a question you probably shouldn't ask cause you'll get answers like 137 MPH and a big discussion about speedo's being wrong.
Officially your looking at a max speed of 110 and 0-60 of 11.8. you might want to look at the 1.4sri 0-60 10.8. They are rare but come with better suspension and brakes as well and some places will insure them cheaper than the SR's. BTW Good luck with your test i had mine cancelled yesterday due to bloody fog.

Apparently Ste's car is standard, I've had this conversation with him many times. The last time I got my car Rolling Roaded, I was told I had 90Bhp from my J Reg 1.4SR. It had a performance exhust and K&N bolt on filter. I don't know how Ste managed to get that sort of performance, but I'd like mine to go that fast :) As for 1.4SR's you can get K plate ones, but there very rare. You should be able to get a nice G/H reg and get insured. Good Luck, Jim.

if your vuaxhall engine tends to get a lot faster than it should and youve done nowt to it in recent time then u can bet that its gonna blow :)

lol but i had it rebuilt with a new block and it was still just as fast p.s. it was rolling roaded at 72.5bhp... after the rebuild
p.s.s. the car may be long dead almost 2 years now but the engine lives on :-)) it's going in nova chicks 1.0!!

So let me get this straight. If i follow the info below i'd be better off getting a 1.4sr and scrapping my plans for a GSI coz the 1.4 has a higher top speed and is only half a second slower than the gsi 0-60. LMAO.

nahh i have seen a gsi on the limiter in 5th (2 peeps and 1/2 a tank of fuel)
it is higher gearer so the top speed has to be faster
