Well after having the new valver engine a week and seemingly being completely mint last week its decided to become a proper smoker as it likes nothing more than to puff out masses of blue smoke when revd up also sounds fairly rough compared to when I first got it. I removed the spark plugs and 3 were the normal colour and one was black and sooty. I tend to think that because its been stood a while that one of the piston rings has gone.
Any ideas folks?
Cheers
rings gone bye bye and now burning oil! hence blue smoke like the red arrows but more blue'r! lol

mine is an 8v SR remember. it was the 22nd december or something like that, cash in hand at my local garage!
new head gasket, p/rings and a reground crank and 11 tho piston skim came to ?286+ or something like that. Includes like the usual head skim and sundries (oil + water) etc etc
Not bad for about 6 hours work that close to christmas!
