View Full Version : v6 nova
hello, i bought a v6 nova a couple of months ago and im finally getting round to sorting it out. its fast but the brakes are worse than useless. will a nova gte servo help? its an sr. thanks. i think it may have belonged to someone off this site a while ago as theres a novaload sticker in the side windows
What brakes are on it? Standard nova brakes? If yes, change them IMMEDIATELY for at least some valver brakes with decent pagid or mintex pads or better still some cav turbo or V6 items. A servo swap wont make much difference at all tbh.
What does it corner like out of interest?
yer just get the bigest brakes possible mate espiecaly to stop that beast!
i was told they were astra gte brakes on the front.how do i check if they are? will the disc be 256mm across? ill try giving them a bleed tomorrow. ive only been up and down the road a couple of times mate but i imagine it wont corner ha ha. has anyone ever fitted audi quattro brakes to a nova?
iv never heard of quattro brakes being fitted.
and yes they should be around 256mm across, and the caliper will be in like to pieces.
Some Audi quattro brakes (Audi UR quattro turbo for example) only use single pot calipers (and they aren't GM so I doubt they would fit mate)!! Go V6 288mm discs as you have quite a lot of momentum to kill with a big engine like that in the front. Think you'll need 16" wheels though. If you stick with GTE brakes, try some aftermarket pads (and discs if you are feeling rich) after a decent bleed.
