Can anyone tell me what chokes i should be running in my 40s? The engine is as follows:
14nv block
1300 head
285 cam
40DHLA carbs
ashley 4 branch and magnex system
Someone has told me i need 34mm chokes but that just seems stupid, i mean i'm sure it was benji who told me on an engine like mine you should run a max of 32mm IF you have a big valve head. Does that sound about right?
By the way it has 28mm in atm

I'd say 30mm chokes would do for that spec

i got some spare 30's (DHLA) if your intersted. Might even trade them for your 34's.
yep i agree with 30's also, i to run 34's in mine

lol, i dont have 34s in mine, someone told me i should have but i swiftly told them differently! I believe mine are 28mm so i guess they should be ok unless i went for bigger valves?

you probably won't be reaching your maximum power but you should gain a few pounds of torque at mid range.

so maybe 30mm chokes would be better for what i have atm?
