if its in good shape with box, shafts, loom, tank & pump etc then I dont think its all bad.
I could get an E16SE for ?50 but its screwed & I dont want it. Just proves thay are cheap though. (in fact Ive been given 2 in the last few years).

i think i payed the least for a gsi engine: ?20 it was the starting bid on ebay. came with everything, and its actually mint, but im rebuilding it just to make sure, well you would worry if you had just paid only 20 quid of and engine, box, loom, ecu, etc.

I sold a fully rebuilt 1.6 GTE lump with piper cam in it for less than ?200.

?300 is way too steep, ~?100 for the lump & ~?70 for the loom, fuel pump & tank, gearbox, driveshafts etc

For that lot I'd pay no more than ?200 and the engine would have to be a low miler with some sort of proof of mileage.
