Rev limit on 1.4SR - you choose...

im going to fit a universal rev limiter so my SR when its fitted.

i was wondering what i should set it to.

my 1.2i limits at 6250 and it really doesnt seem high enough

any ideas??

Used to rev my 1.4 SR off the clock til it went flat, just kept pullin!

erm 6800 ish.... not much point going beyond that.... basically drive to where it stops accelrating as hard as it would in the next gear.

I have to agree with stan. I'm looking to fit a rev limiter on mine. I know it will rev off the clock but there is no real need for it, 6500 to 6800 does me fine.

I'm thinking that I'll set mine to about 7500. That should be high enough to allow me to rev the nuts of it but still stop it exploding if I **** up a gear change at high revs.

lol Classic. I keep on doing that when I take the nova off the road and have to drive my mk2 fiesta. I always feel like a bit of a plonker when I'm doing 70 down the M4 and then front dives to the floor like I've just slammed the brakes on for no reason.

personally i wouldnt want to go over 7K for long periods of time on std bolted rods... ARP all the way to try and stop it throwing a rod due to bolt failiure.

wot is a 1.2 carb model safe to rev to without detonation, ive only been taking it to 5and half thousand. am too scared that my babyll be off the road so id like to know before i go n blow it up tryin to keep up with my m8s r5gtt

too be honest mate your gonna have a tough time keepin with a 5 Turbo in a 1.2 Nova whatever it revs to lol
