should be ok cutting them off, seen a few cars do it before, ive considered doing it before, think its just a case of grinding the lip off, then sanding smooth ?

Err, that holds your roof skin to your car! there are welds along it holding them together.

I seen it done on a show nova with that gay kit off ebay, it looked strange, personally i wouldnt advise it as it does look a bit silly, but i guess we all got our own opinions, if you wanna get them off just take the plasticy piece off and grind it down with the smallest angle grinder you can find i guess

as said, thats what holds your roof on! if you want to remove them you will have to plate it up on the inside. however once you cut the gutter off, it will look gay as the roof wont just go around and down the car, there will be a bit that sticks out that you cant grind down. its a major job anyway without getting around that.

dont cut them off.

1. the guttering protects the tops of the doors from rain - nova rubbers leak like fecking seives (mine do anyway!).

2. if you cut them off you need to weld plates on the inside of the roof under the lining to reinforce the car and bond the roof to the shell. The roof is stitch welded to the car giving it rigidity.

3. It will look like a southern hillbilly - eg the ones that shave their sidies off and leave the mop on top and the mullet down the back - ot doesnt look right!

Just get a new set of gutter covers.

Removing them is the same principle as deseaming the old mini's, i havent done it personally but i am planning to do it on my car, i spoke to a bloke who i know who's a panel beater and he said he could do them for me but it'd cost loads cause it'd take so long, iv'e decided to have a go myself instead. I was instructed to grind them off about 2-3 cm at a time and then weld that bit followed by grinding it back smooth, so as you can see it'd take ages to get it looking mint, worth it in my opinion tho, hence why i'm gonna have a go myself.
