questions about none starter

after rebuild it still wont start must be something i ve missed

plugs leads an diz cap an rotor arm are all brand new but its got no spark
should there be an earth wire coming off engine that goes to battery at the mo i have 1 wire goes from firewall 2 earth terminal on battery (was looking at pics on here an noticed some had 2 thick earth wire on their battery)

its got power just no spark when engine is cranked over the earth wire on the battery gets really hot :eek: is this normal ?

its 1.4 sr block 1.3 head T40s

I have the earth terminal lead on the battery, which then has another small earth lead earthed to the firewall.

theres just three main earths on a nova, battery to firewall, one from the alternator to the block, and one from the gearbox to the chassis leg.
