Right im thinking of dropping the GTE/Gsi engine into my nova sr.

Just wandering wat sort of things i will need to consider when fitting this engine, as in wat other things will need to be changed etc.

Also wat sorta money will i be lookin at to getting everything to convert it?

Any help wuld be much appreciated.

Thanks, Luke

You'll need an MPI fuel tank+pump and new fuel lines to cope with the higher fuel pressure (the carb ones arent supposed to cope), you may need gte/gsi hubs and driveshafts because I don't know which ones are on the SR. Don't forget the loom+ecu off the new engine. Everything else should work fine with the new engine.

It'll probably cost you around a ton for a gte/gsi engine, ?60 ish for a new fuel tank based on sel-imperials price, no idea on the cost of the fuel lines/shafts/hubs, but you could take everything you need from the donor vehicle anyway.

you can keep the gearbox and drive shafts, just pull the engine out, drop the new one in, wire up the electrics, new tank and fuel lines, and fire her up :)

My current engine is running about 85-90bhp atm, but i thort id jus go for the GTE/GSi and get the instant 100bhp and work on that instead.

If your engine is about 80-90bhp i wouldn't bother with the swap tbh, you probably wouldn't even notice a difference, as std GTE engines are getting on a bit now.
Plus you'll save on tax and insurance.

If you do swap it, your shafts will fit, then you just need everything listed in the above posts.

Wat shall i do then, shall i go for the conversion or not? im not ganna be leaving the gte/gsi standard, i wanna get at least 120-130bhp outa it, maybe more.....

How much u guys rekon my sr engine is worth, milage is bout 115,000 tho, but was rebuilt yr or so ago, head was skimmed, ported, polished and gas flowed, Kent fast road cam, pulley, etc etc

Yep.
Also keep the dizzy/coil/coil loom off the 1.4SR to use on the 1.6 if you fit t40s.

Its a 1.3sr that i have got, will these items still fit then, and y shud i keep those items for the 40's?

You need a 1.4SR dizzy and coil for the ignition side of things, as the 1.6 dizzy doesn't work well with the 40s as it has no advance system.
