My Wires Are Too Long On The Back Plugs Of My Novas Radio.

Just tie them together a few times with some zip clips, or electrical tape.

I have had the same problem in my mk1, I have however cut the loom from the head unit so the speaker wires are gone, the 12v and ignition are run together before being bullet connectored to the 12v. The earth is bulleted as per, as is the remote cable. Need a pic?

p.s, buy a spare loom off ebay if you are likely to carry the head unit over.

This is my harness, witht he block chopped off. The red and yellow connected via bullets anyway and terminate in a female bullet connector, allowing me to add a male to the red wire coming out of the Nova. The black earth I had to chomp out, then add bullets to either end. The remote also had a femal bullet there already. I have left the speaker wiring out completely as I only have 6x9s in the back, but have taped the bare ends up in case they touch something. I have left a decent amount here in case I ever feel the need to bullet these up to run some door speakers. I have kept the other end of the harness (and the vauxhall adapter) to tell me what speaker wire does what.

This allows the stereo to clink nicely into place and if I ever need remove it and fiddle with it, its not a mare to put back in. When it had the stereo harness and Vaux adapter (fitted when i didnt know much about electrics) it was a mission to get in and eventually made the stereo crackle as the stuffed in wires were doubled back on themselves, straining the connections and making the stereo sound awful (cut outs, static etc). Nearly binned a perfectly good head unit too!!
