Nova Sport T40 Throttle cable

I have a Nova rally car using the Sport T40 carb arrangement including the airbox and throttle bracket.

I am using a Nova GTE throttle cable with the nipple cut off, this is not ideal as the cable needs replaced after just a couple of rallies.

What I need to know is what cable did the original Sport use? I take it it is no longer available but is there a modern/different cable that I could use without cutting the nipple off that would give me full adjustment at the carb end.

I do want to keep the airbox as it gives a 8ft/lb torque advantage over carb trumpets.

I think it was off a manta 1800. Are you useing solderless nipples on a cut-down cable? I'm sure there are some places about that will make a cable up to your requirements but I cant remember any names.

8valve only. dont even need to modify it. It fits the standard sport centre throttle linkage perfect. Get one from a motorfactors for about ?10

i can also get k&n filters that fit irmscher airbox's even though k&n say they dont make them anymore :thumb:

I got an 8V SRi cable and it looks a very tight bend as it mounts at the carb end, I don't suppose you know the length of the cable do you? The one I got was 780mm in length?

Yeah its a VW & Ford Escort RS Turbo filter, cannot remember the part number tho

Mines a VW/Audi/Skoda part. I've still got the K&N part number if anyone wants it
