Get yourself a drip tray, a 19mm spanner IIRC (check beforehand) new copper washer, oil filter (if applicable) and replacement oil ready to go. Run the block up to temperature, then pop the bonnet remove the oil filler cap get the drip tray under the sump and undo the bolt.

Be sparing when you put the new oil in, its much easier to top up, than to get the right amount out :).

Also remember to re-fit the drain plug before you put your new oil in ;)
Easy to forget that,Lol.

I drive the car until the oils hot, then drive 'enthusiastically' for a about 10 mins at high ish revs to displace some of the crap in the block and put it into suspension in the oil so it comes out. Park the GSi on a level bit of ground. Find the bolt on the sump (lowest point on the engine) and if its like the 1.poo, the bolt will be angled away from you. I personally replace the filter with the oil every 4500/5000 miles anyway as its so cheap! The Nova GSi holds about 4 litres of oil so makes sure the tray you use is big enough!
