whats the difference between the diesel engine and the turbo diesel engine for the nova? its the 1.5 block and apart from the obvious difference being the turbo unit, is there anything else?
i have a 1.5 isuzu engine and wish to upgrade by putting the turbo unit from one i have for spares; is this possible and how do i go about doing it?

i think one has lower compression, but might aswell just fit a 1.7TD unit from a cavalier :)

as a basic idea the pug 205 diesel engine has a Cr of 22:1 if its N/A and 21:1 for Turbo'd (the numbers might be wrong but they are deffo only one appart)

Differences:

-injection pump (the 1.5TD pump has a boost connection i.e. more boost=more fuel)
-oil supply to turbo & return from turbo
-water pipes on the front of the block (again to connect to the turbo)
-water to oil cooler
-thermostat housing (extra pipes for oil cooler & turbo water connection)
-oil sprays (piston cooling)
-compression 1.5D=23:1 1.5TD=22:1

Turboing the 1.5D can be done, even with the original pump but it wont last very long,
Adam (http://adampetherick.co.uk) over on corsasport turbo'ed his 1.5 and it broke after +/- 1 year iirc
