just a quicky to help me out, i'm stripping my f13 gearbox but have only got so far and now i cannot re-move the gear set. i am thinking of using the gear set out of my f10 gearbox as i know its low miles and mint, so i will swap it with the f13 gear set. will it fit? i am running a 1.6 GTE engine. i am also changinh the final drive to 4.18 but i'm gonna let a gearbox bloke do that bit for me. heres some pics how far i've got

If all of the bolts have been removed, have you removed the selector? If yes then its just a case of prising apart. use a hammer and block of wood or copper hammer. The gaskets often seem to stick well.

Stick with the F13, the box has better ratios, just change the final drive to give better accelleration

Seems to be a bit of movement in the diff, is this normal because the driveshafts are out??

you mean it will move side to side? yeah thats moderately normal as you say due to the shafts, and also the bearings have some play
