are the fuel pumps on a 1.4 and 1.6 carb engines the same?

not sure about 1.6 and 1.4. What i can tell you is, yes there are a few different pumps, they will all fit perfectly on the carb engine. The difference;s are the some have the inlet on one side and the outlet on the opposite side. Some have a slightly different shape also, but still bolt and work fine.
If your changing yours there's one thing to look out for, there are different thicknes of the gasket on different pumps, just make sure if you get a pump that the gasket is the same thickness as your orignal one
