ive got a 14nv engine, is this the same as an sr?
also ive got an f10 gear box, 4 speed. what modle car would this have come off? oh and ive gota remove it from its old engine, all bolts are off, its starting to split but something is stoping it, is it an input shaft?

ive split gearboxes before, but they split very easy.
any ideas?

check again you have all the bolts out - theres one that comes from the other side to the others beside gearbox mount

make sure you have the wee bottom plates off

think thats it

Try pulling out the input shaft to its stop.

is that the big bolt looking thing at the near side of the box? if it is what size bolt is it? ive tried my 32mm on it but it was too small.
is this always the case with f10 boxes?

the f10 is on another sr engine at the mo, both engines are out of their cars, just that the engine the box is on is shaged and im transfering it, mainly because i dont need a 5 speed box.
looks like its the input shaft, on my old 1.2i i didnt have this problem

14NV is indeed an SR engine. Also found in very old 1400cc mk1 Astra's

yea its a 1987 engine, still looks good cam etc, looks like its had a new head gasket at some point as all the manifold bolts were easy to move, well not rusted as bad as my k reg engine.
