weber running fine, but am i lossing power?

Have a weber 32/34 running on my 14nv. Its running fine, and no flooding at all. Just wondering though, is it possible i am losing power using the mech pump and no regulator?
Or is the reg just used for stopping problems like flooding or running rich? Like i said the engine is running fine without it, cheers

The standard pump supplies too much pressure for a weber 32/34 iirc.
Dont know if your loosing power.

Do you get any black smoke out the exhaust?

none whatsoever. Car idle's great and smooth, and is def not running rich, as the spark plugs are running the right colour.
