I removed my long suffering rear bumper from the Merit to cut a bigger aperture for my exhaust and found that the end slides are completely rotted away. The brackets on the side of the bodywork are fine (plastic obviously!). I have since cured this by fitting 1 3/4" self tappers screwed through the bumper into the brackets but this is a temporary bodge. Can these end slides be replaced as they seem to be riveted on.

They're plastic welded on in the same way as the front grille. You can't buy the metal bits seperate so you might be better off buying a new bumper, a brand spanking new pattern one can be had for less than ?50.

yer one of mine had just gone! didnt want a new bumper as its been re-sprayed etc, so my dad fillered a bolt on and then held it on further with some fibreglass. then took the plastic bit off the shell and placed the bolt through the hole and did it up. has worked an absolute treat!
