air filter

hiya lads,dont have a clue about cars but mine has been runing funny lately,i took the air filter off and it seems to drive a little bit better with not one on at all.
am i ok to leave the car with no air filter on ?

go buy a new one, might be in need of replacement

will do,it definately needs replacing as its got a big split in.
will i be ok driving round with none on at all though ?
like i say i dont know much about cars so thought i better make sure.
