clio tips

hay everyone im going to look at a 1.4 1993 renault clio rt 2door in jet black in a few days just wondering what things go rong with this type of car any tips on what to look for

the speedo 'will' jump around below 40mph, they dent easy coz there french and paints never the best on them. that all i no

heating prob wont get hot ive had 3 mk1 clios now 2 1.2 and the valver ive got now and not 1 had a gud heating and every1 i now whos had 1 never had gud heating there the worst car for winter

i will bare that in mind it seems to look ok on the pic but need to see it in the flesh

also i will be wanting to fit my 17/205/40 rims on it will i need to do any arch mods at all?
also im thinking a 55mm drop on front and on the rear i want the arch to be covering the tyre so willi need to do any arch mods to get this to work

Don't you want to crack on with the wide arch nova and drive that? I'm sure it will be more fun than a Clio, no point in spending loads on the Clio if the Novas almost ready

being french it will probably be totally shot if its on the wrong side of 50k

aye most french cars tend to lose intrest in life post 50K or 3 years.... IMO id really avoid them like the plauge (yes i know ive got a 205 and i hate it lol)

i had a mk1 clio as a 1st car n i lent on the back door and it poped in n creased it. lol

i just want it as a run around to get to work and backk and to go cruisen in
the nova is nearlly done yes but i really wont a car for now the nova is me show car

make sure you count the wheels. You cant tell from driving them wether theyre missing one or not.

Make sure the headlights point forwards

Check -

Sunroof for leaks
rear arches for crust
all the eletrics work
if the gearbox makes any strange noises

There the main one's,then just the usual stuff -wheel bearings,headgasket,play in the rack etc
