just wondering what everyone thought of the 1400 mpi engine found in early corsa's, this one is in a 4 door version, think it may be an SI

C14SE. Excellent little engines. Underrated outside of Vauxhall circles in my opinion. They are in the sahdow of other 1400's that had 16 valves from the same era, ie Rover K series.
Easy to mod though & torquey as std, as with all Vauxhall 8v engines.

sweet, i may get one, then do future mods like cams and throtle bodies. is it the same as the nova sri engine?

tbh throttle bodies on an 8V engine is a little futile as to make the best from them the power will be peaky as feck....

would be better off getting the inlet manifold "machined" with abrasive slurry to remove the harsh casting finish inside and use mappable engine management and a lairy cam + head work etc for a nice engine

I'd turbo charge it tbh....

but then I am a boost junkie.

These engines go really well with a garret strapped on. Will surprise a few R5s & RS escorts etc then.

As for the comments on similarities to a Nova GSi engine. The Sri lump is a bit later than the regular GSi /GTE lump known as E16SE. There was a C16SE but they arent too common. Main difference is the cat converter on the 'C' engines & the ECU/management.
With a big valve/flowed head, I'd expect the 1.4 SRi to pull aswell as the 1600.

Very good engines Imo.
Yup, its the same engine as nova SRi, mk3 astra GLS etc also had them.
Id chose one over a 1600 gte/gsi engine anyday, mainly because lower insurance cost, lower tax, no AFM to start playing up ;)
And very similar power.

Easy to remove from a corsa too, as the loom unplugs :)

the loom unplugs, obviosly i'll need the loom from the corsa as my nova was a 1.4 spi, and i will need the ecu ect
what other things will i need?
will my driveshafts fit from the spi nova?

Probably ye/\
Its only i think early corsa SRi's that had c14se.

Also LUV2XLR8 (http://www.novaload.net/forum/member.php?u=11570), the loom will need wiring into your car loom, it wont just plug in.

cool, it is a mpi system, or single rail injection system. 19k on the clock (genuine)
if i took the loom out of the corsa will it fit my nova or will i have to take the loom apart?
guy wants 225 for the whole lot, loom box everything, sound good to you lot?
