Sykes pickavant hinge pin remover or similar. You will not do it without one.
Try and soak in easing oil before hand.
I have virtually knackered my new tool taking just two doors off!

Ah yes the right tool would make it easier. lol

Sprayed mine with lots of WD40 and smacked a giant screw through it. Didn't want the door so could bend it backwards at the top for room. lol

When I asked someone said a bonnet stay was the right size. ;)

bonnet stay is the correct size, but if your not wanting the door best way i have found is to angle grind off the hinge the door side, and then its so much easier to knock the pin out

much easier with the correct tools, saves any damage to the bodywork.
Little tip tho, wrap the grip section of the bar in something to stop the shock of the hammer hitting it hurting your hand

I have tried taking doors off from two novas now, but just had no luck getting them off. I bought the proper tool too, two sets infact, but after days of hammering on them they completely wore out!. It really doesnt help that you have virtually no room to get at the hinges, even taking the wings off doenst help that much. The best way to get a door off is to cut the hinge, either on the car side, or on the door, depending on which one your keeping.

They are a bitch to get off.

If you dont need the doors then you can do this.

You just have to persevere with the pins I'm afraid.

Yeah! felt like I'd been using a windypick lol

I bent the hell out of my tool also after just one door!

Also had to angle grind the top/bottom of the old door away to allow the pins out and had to chop the end of a screwdriver to make a punch lol

I must have been very lucky then cos i got mine out using long pin punches, when the doors are refitted i will be replacing pins with cavalier type ones, they have a lip and are far easier to remove than nova pins, i heated up the hinges with a blowtorch BTW, heat seemed to help

I started a similar thread about 3 weeks ago.

I was advised to use a bonnet stay as it the same/ideal dia as the hinge. And it works a treat. I snapped off the pins as the protruded through the hinge so I didnt have to grind the door etc..

surely heating it would make it all expand making it more dificult?

Didnt seem to anyway, i had my nova passenger door off in under 10 mins doing it this way, wouldnt use the blowtorch technique unless ur painting the bits cos it WILL burn off quite a lot of the paint
