Well my m8 has an Astra SX with a 1.6 block usin a Pierburg 2e3 carb.
It all looks the same as mine, such as manifold and inlet manifold.
I was wonderin wot i would need to do to the GTE block so I could use my 32/34 weber instead of the injection unit!
Could i just use my 1.3 inlet manifold and exhaust manifold, or do i need serious mods to do all of this??

The 1.6 Nova heads have round inlet ports with no funny shapes that the 1.4 heads have. You may well find similar in your case if thats any help.

O, well can I use my 1.3 head then? I heard this was a betta idea from somebody, then i dont need to block off the extra water pipe! Ok, so if I do that it would just be the bottom of the engine thats 1.6 GTE, and the top would be 1.3 so my inlet and exhaust manifolds will defo fit! The heads must be the same because if u look in catalogs for performance heads, the 1.3/1.4/1.6 heads r under the same unit code!!
I suppose I could even buy a performance head before I install the damn thing!!
O come on guys, wot shal i do?
And dont say 2L 16v!!!!!

the valves in the 1.3 head are smaller!! = less bhp

Ok, wot about a superflow head from petermaiden? With the bits from my sr's head. (Cam, Dizzy, pump, manifolds). Would this help, surely it would! As it is designed for 1.3/1.4/1.6.
And i found out that the astra 1.6 carb engine has 82bhp, and 92Lb/ft of torque, so lots more torque than anythin really!!

If you put a 1.3 head on a 1.6 bottom end you will be squashing 1600ccs of mixture in a space ment for 1300ccs. This will give you to much compression and the engine will go bang! Why not buy a 1.6 carbed engine from the scrap yard ?80ish. Do you really want to take the injection off and losse all that reliability it gives?

okay dicko if the 1.3 inlet manifold isnt the right port shape then use a 1.4 one ov these will defanitly fit now just use your existing exhaust manifold and you will be sorted easy peasy if the exhaust dosent have the right port shape then use gte/gsi
have fun

I`d stick with the injection, you`ll use less fuel and get better cold starting, it`s easier to mod as well as the computer compensates for induction kits etc.

Ur gona loose about 15bhp from doing that which isn't really a clever move!!
