i tried lol but no, valver brakes WONT go under most 13" alloys/steels... those revolutions are about the only to do so.

what about those borbet ones?

Stuart

even then its tricky with the STD GM offset that they are likely to come in then they caliper wont be cleared from the front...

umm, im know left with a big decision! put smaller brakes on or these nice wheels.

Stuart

smaller brakes ;) lol

ive dropped a wheel size to get cheaper slicks which meant going back to 236mm brakes. hopefully they can take he track abuse

i take it was a rally wheel with a deep dish? love to see the wheel your talking about. I've got a thing for old skool 13 deep dish rally wheels, i've got 13inch 8 inch wide alley cats about ET15, in vaux pcd. They would never do a nova, but they are a beautful wheel from the old times. I'm going to get them sand blasted and refurb them to orignal pristine condidtion, just for the fun of it cause i luv em, probably be worth in the ?250-300 price range in good shape, as they're a extremely rare wheel now, and weight a ton, almost unbuckable lol:-) Rally men love them

See My For Sale Thread For The Wheels He's On About. 7x13" Borbets

256MM DISCS ARE JUST NOT GOOD ENOUGH FOR A VALVER IMHO

so there's no way in hell i'd be able to get them on with a valver in.

Hey RJM25R please check your PM

256mm brakes are "fine" on the astra/cav that the valver was originally on therefore in a lighter vehicle they will be "even better".....

236mm ones would struggle, but tbh the kind of pounding a car gets round track the engine size is irrelevant as generally most cars will be doing the same/similar speeds into bends etc thus the brakes all get the same load on them and blah blah blah.

its all about the brake disc material, caliper strength, pad material, air ducting to cool it all and fluid.. the size helps give better leverage but braking rates are determined by the tyre

where di you get them from? do they do them in a bigger size. i swear iv seen some that look like exactly the same but bigger

I THINK STUART, THAT A VALVER WILL TRAVEL faster THAN THE ASTRA OR CAV SO NEEDS BETTER BRAKES.
I wouldn't drive a valver with 256mm, after owningtwo (with 288's/4pots), and driving 2 with 256's fitted.....

The astra/cav has more weight to stop at speed tho ;)

think marland..... your a salesman not an engineer lol

its obv personal perogative as to what ever setup you want but a well specced 236mm setup can be as good/better than a 256/288mm setup.....

size isnt everything you know :p

its the size of the hammer you use to knock it in with is the important bit ;) lol
