hiya i tried lining my xe up last weekend and noticed that the alternator pulleys etc foul the chasis leg, i dont particularly want to cut a chasis leg for obvious reasons therefore does any one know where i can purchase slimmer pulleys or change the belt? any help appreciated

It does on all XEs.
You have to mod the chassis leg (i.e. dent it with a big hammer, lol, or cut it and weld in a box section)

this is what i did on mine it needs moveing about 5 mm in as if i push my alternator bk it hits on the rear off the inset i made and thats with the v pulleys not the other type only took about half an hour to do start to finish

and if your going the awfull hammer route its double skin there so hit it HARD

You could always front mount it.

ok i understand from the picture what u have done however that gives u clearance for the top but what about the bottom?? the lower pulley seems inline therefore how does the belt run with out it catching?? just im a little confused

the lower pully's fine, you need to machine of the extra pully for the pas, for extra clearance, though it isn't always nessisary, i didn't and have still got quite a bit of clearance on it

you can just grind it off as appose to machining. Although its like mechanical surgery so be careful!
