VAUXHALL - OPEL
1. CORSA, NOVA 1.3 8v
Engine Code: C13N/NB
YEAR: 1986-1996

will this fit my 1.2 1992 nova? she is a carb version. Will the power increase by much?

Lol, you cant buy something worth ?200 for ?10.

You could always look for a aftermarket piper/kent on ebay, but on a standard engine i would just stick with a GM cam tbh, a 1.4SR cam will give a noticeable gain.

Will a 1.4 SR cam work on my carb fed 1988 1.2 engine? (and will it be much work to get the carb set up correctly??)

Ive just remembered that a 1.4 cam has a different dizzy drive than a 1.2.
So you would be best with a 1300SR cam, as that has the same dizzy drive as a 1.2

You could find a good 2nd cam on ebay, a 285 cam should'nt be extreme so it should be okay on a std engine. The old nova NVO series 285 cams are decent on idle and driveable on low revs, a 1400sr cam might do your job okay though, but if you moding the engine slightly go with a 285 and the usual manifold/exhaust air filter mods.

the NVO series are more suited to the injection setup, but will be "ok" on carbs though

I had a 295 ast2 on my carbed 1.2 with 32/34 carb, worked head, 4-1 ashley and exhuast system. TBH the carb was'nt setup to a tee but it still had very good power and a strong pull in the powerband from 3000rpm up. But saying that the engine was very undrivable around towns, and i had to increase idle speed to around 1400rpm to keep the car idling and i was always worried this would cause over heating in traffic.
Also it made me seem like a boy racer type driver, as when taking off in 1st gear i had to rev the car pretty hard to get moving, simlar to what a rally car has to do when not rallying, you'd think it was gonna boot it and lite up the tyre's but it dose'nt, just that the power has shifted alot up the rev range. It was fun along with my other engine mods, so i'm going to be transfering the mods into my new 1400 sr, and use a worked 1300 head though
