trouble fitting kn ,s to t40 s

the filters seem to be slightly too wide the studs on the base plate fouled the cluch cable grommet so i cut the grommet down so it would clear it,but when i put the filters on they both foul on the heater pipes where they mount to the matrix wich causes the filters to be sat too high on the base plates ,even if i cut part of the filter so it will clear the pipes the top plates (the topof the filters) will still foul on the pipes ,

anyone had this trouble ?

might be worth posting a pic? The best looking & easist fitting filter is the big round piper one, although there a bit pricey??

basically they will only fit if i remove both pipes from the matrix .
can you buy different sized hose so i could run thinner pipes (they would have to be flared at the ends so they are the correct size to fit to the matrix
