X16XE and X16XEL - difference??

autodata lists the two

i can get an X16XEl no prob, got load of them in astras

X16xel has less power, think its down to a different cams, and a different.
It shares the x14xe(1400 16v) cams and head iirc.

Only about 4bhp less than a x16xe.

The inlet is different on the XEL engine to the XE, the XEL is a one piece manifold where as the XE is a two piece

Pretty sure they are interchangable though
