I managed to track down a 6-dial unit from a mark I :) - see here (http://www.novaload.net/forum/showthread.php?t=61576)

I suspected that the oil pressure gauge is broken, and had somone confirm that for me:

Is there an easy way to get the clocks open without breaking anything? I'd like to have a look to see if I can fix it, or at least set it to rest on the red marker, or remove the needle, or blank over that dial or something.

very easy to take appart. its all intuative.

Are you sure its broken? Mine was like that until i fitted an oil pressure switch and wired it all up. You need to get the switch from a car that had the oil pressure guage standard.

Well I'm at the uni house at the moment, so I can't check it in the car. Applying the current to it from an AA battery moves the needle as it should, but it returns very, very, very slowly to that "wrong point". The fuel indicator is much stiffer(more damping) as you'd expect, and returns much faster by comparison, so I think its the spring inside. I can't find my drill bits at the moment though to get the rivets out of the casing of the module.

gf's sr clocks sit im the same place until you switch the ign on and then it shoots back to the "low" position, if I were to turn the ign off without firing up then it would move back to your position very slowly. however if I start the engine it will read the pressure.
imho there is nothing wrong with it!

Theres nothing wrong with that pressure guage, thats entirely normal.
My 3sets of those clocks are the same.

It sits there, it goes to the zero position when you turn the ignition on(if you have the 2pin sender fitted)

i have a gte, obviously fitted with the 6 dial clocks, but my tachometer and oil pressure guage dont work, havent taken the dials out as i dont want damage the speedo cable the speedo already bounces at low speeds. where would i find the oil pressure switch?

Its bolted to the back of the oil pump, by the cambelt cover.
You need one off a GSI/GTE to work the guage.

As for the tacho, make sure the wire is connected at the coil end.

OK thanks guys :).

Saves me a job :thumb:.

EDIT: Next question, I want to swap the bulbs that light the clocks (not the ones for warning/indicator/full beam indicators) to LED's. I can handle the fitting of the led's, and the need to change the current, but as I don't have a nova or a haynes manual here, I was wondering if anyone could confirm the polarity for me of the particular circuit. The two highlighted tracks are either side of that circuit. Due to some of the gauges/indicators being connected to the green side, I think thats the earth, but before I start soldering, I'd like to get that confirmed. :)

LEDs went into both my Novas and the Celica fine without current adjustment...

Well the bulbs say 12v 1.2W on them, and i'll be using 5v led's, so I'll have to use a resistor, but thats not the problem, I just want confirmation of the polarity.
