i have a 13SR and the engine will soon be dead. i am only 17 so this is my first car. what do you think of dropping in a 14SR engine with piper cam? worth it? ot just get another 13SR engine. i ask cause u hear so much people say the 14 is faster then the rest say the 13 is much quicker.

bear in mind my insurance is high for my 13.
please let me know what you people think

cheers

fit 1200cc pistons and that makes it 1404cc or get a 1.4sr engine
as for the 1.3 being quicker it is all ways the peeps with 1.3 who say it is faster (only cause they don't want you to get a 1.4)

What effect would the 1200cc pistons have on my compression ratio. Would i need uprated head gasket or what...

And finally how much more power could i see from it along with piper cam, KandN magnex exhaust?

Thanks for the advice

mrrawuk u just said that theres no way a 1.3 could have a 1.4, so how the fuck did you figure out that u along with 4 others in a 1.0 blew away an sr with 2 people in it!!! re-arrange the words: shit and bull

how are the 1200 pistons different to the 1300 pistons would'nt you loose compression

I have owned both as standard and thought they were both pretty quick. The 1.4 has more torque and has a bit more top end of the gears.

surely 1200 pistons will reduce the CC in the engine !!!

the 1200 pistons are bigger diameter. the 1300 has a longer throw crank and shorter rods. if you look inb the haynes you will see that the production 1400 uses 1300 crank and rods and pistons just a bit smaller than 1200

so steve, i imagine thats your name, what your saying really is just swap over pistons? thats quite a good idea if thats all you got to do

sorry to ask so much but your advive has thrown me a bit

cheers

you will have to bore out the engine to fit the 1200 pistons (better in the long run), or you could fit 1300 crank and rods in a 1200 engine (cheaper but the 1200 must have good compression before you start)

are the 1600 pistons bigger still? how much bigger would they be, as apposed to the 1200, 1300 and 1400? Also what would be the best 2 put in a 1300 for best performance?
