yea, in though the window, with out breaking it either...

cars locked up in garage now, and will be sorted at weekend, new steering colum's going on it, and it doesn't feel right when driving it. it feels really lose, and no feedback from what its doing

If you got remote central locking, disconnect the pins from the back of the door lock to the mechanism (not gonna say why but trust me, you probs already know) then if you got the grey bits at the top of the doors like the GSi and GTE its easier, mark where the lock pins sit when locked and cut off the tops so they sit flush when the door is locked so noone can unlock the door as there is nothing to pull up to unlock it, just makes it either a little less tempting to get in or at least more awkward for the fcukers!!!
Good to see you got her back in one piece and so soon too matey!!!

Adam
12-05-06, 01:56 PM
Ye/\
Thats what mine is done like, i have no door pins at all.

SuperNova!
12-05-06, 02:50 PM
I thought of that but instead I got some solex locks because you can dead-lock them and then the pins cannot be pulled up and the door doesnt open if you pull the handle.

Seems to be prett safe

?117 is right for recovering it, i work at a recovery place. We dont make the charges the police set them up, its ?105 call-out fee and ?12 a day parking. these charges are this high because of the people who's car we impound and dont cough up, we also have to pay to scrap the cars. i know its unfair but thats the great british roads/driving laws. i have also been on the receiving end of these charges before i started at the recovery firm, i had to pay a weeks parking (at ?18) because the police werent sure who took the car !?!

draper
12-05-06, 04:31 PM
although if you picked the car up within a day id drop the ?12 charge

SRlew
12-05-06, 08:43 PM
am glad that there wasnt to much damage mate. where did the police find it?

lew

Ste L
13-05-06, 08:36 AM
was found pushed half way down the road it was taken on...

due to moving house temporarly, they knocked on my old house, which is in the process of being gutted etc, and go no answer, they toed the car for that reason.

they couldn't get the car started, had no ecu in it, bet they felt proper gutted, that they couldn't steal a nova lol lol

Mike.

you didnt have to pay anything to get the car back the recovery try and con you when i had my bike stolen i went to pick it up after from recovery they saiid ?120 so we wasnt happy about it so we told police and police says they have tried doing this with people to rip you off you shouldnt have to pay anything when its been stolen have a word with the police and try and get ur money back

draper

normally people claim it back of the insurance company but obviously for ?117 its not worth it, if recovery operators worked for free then we'd all shut down then you'd be f**ked when you break down !!

just imagine if your car was stolen and found, the police couldn't get it towed away because there were no recovery operators anymore so the next night the pikeys came back and torched it, you'd wish you had the option to pay ?117 !!

seems half cheap. When I rolled my valver last year it cost me ?305 for recovery & 2 days storage.

Damn!
