Heated Screen Light

Is the dial that you pull out for the rear heated screen meant to light up to let you know it's on? I keep forgetting.....

yes but mines stopped working !!

I don't think the mk1 one does, mine never has and there's no obvious bulb

Yeah the MK1 does' mine works fine!

I presume it's the yellow centre of the dial that lights up as opposed to a dashboard light??

i havent noticed on my mk1 but my mk 2 doesnt light up but it looks like it should

I think it lights up when you have have your lights on.

mine did work when ever (lights on and off) but now the bulb has died and i can be arsed to change it

The actual switch center will glow dim with the ignition on and bright when the switch is on.
