Was thinking of making a custom dash bit for my valver. What I was going to do was where the central air vents/clock/hazard switch are, remove these and bond on top a corsa time/temp display housing to the top and fit a 7" TFT monitor for the X-box in the vacated space. Has anyone tried to do this or anything similar and do you think it work? I know I would have to move the hazard switch somewhere but I can't see any real reason why it wouldnt work
any ideas people??
Seems like a reasonable idea to me sir, I remember someone modding the centre vents in a nova to take a 7" TFT, but I can't for the life of me remember who it was.

hi mate!!! Ive done the 7" in dash screen and surround in my nova were the hazard switch/heater vents go. Its a pain to do but looks mint when its done mate
Andy for mine i cheated an used a smaller screen,
mine as 5.7" jobbie an sat where the vents used to, so i got away with just getting a new vent centre section modding that and then trimming a small bit of the switch away an it fitted, but i know some people who have just cut and extended the original wires for the switch.
so basically it can be mounted anywhere within the length of the wire you use up to you really! just don't put it where it'll get knocked all teh time as they aren't the strongest switch in the world!
as for the surround the only problem with that is getting the dash finish, if you do 'cut an shut' a corsa dash you'll have to either spray or flock the dash to cover up any major join marks you'll have.
plus if you do move it don't forget to add the 3amp diode!
hope that may be of some help

i did it with a 7" monitor no problem, il try an get some pics, look sweet sitting up top, not very 'hidden' though!
