Hi there,
Whats involved in swapping my SRi lump to a GSi/GTE lump??
Cheers
dropping engine in and wiring it up, bit of a pain on the sri, due to engine loom apart of car, need to chop it all out, trace a few wires etc etc
use sri shafts brakes fuel tank etc etc, all the same
personally i wouldn't bother, sri's aint that far of the pass of a gte/gsi
As above.
Id stick with the SRi engine personally.
Most GTE engines are tired nowadays so wont be making 100bhp anyway, the sri starts at about 83bhp, with a nice exhaust/de-cat you wouldn't be much off GTE/GSI pace.

My engine is sounding a bit tired now so I might look for another good SRi engine then.
What Cam etc do you guys use?? I've already got a Carbon Filter, 4 branch manifold and de-cat exhaust system
Cheers
You've probably got near GTE/GSI power now then.
What is sounding tired?
Top end tappety?
If you found a late GSI engine (c16se) that would basically plug straight in, as it has the same management as your SRI.

Its a bit rattly and seems to have lost a bit of power. I'd like to buy another engine to re-condition so to speak before I fit it, eg new gaskets, cam kit etc. My Nova is my 2nd car but I still like it to be nippy enough for a bit of back road fun....
