Lowered.
And a set of 15s.

Also remove the bump strips etc.

And then just give it a clean and polish :)

Go rust-hunting+fixing. Check all the arches, inner wings, battery tray and boot corners first, then check everywhere else. If its completely rotten then I'd not bother spending anything on it other than whats needed to keep it running+MOT passable.

After that give it a good clean and polish inside and out.

If you want it to look "nicer", without looking over the top, then:

Nova GSi/GTE/SR/SRi 3 spoke alloys, matching grill+bumpers. Take the 1L and spin badges off the back, and the spin badges off the doors. Clear indicators + repeaters if it doesnt allready have them. Lots of people think novas look better with the bump strips down the sides taken off, and I agree.

I know with all the mods I'm listing here then this is a bit of a contradiction, but if you don't want to push the insurance up too much with regards to ICE, then get a head unit with a removable faceplate, and hide some reasonable 6x9's under the parcel shelf (not visible from outside the boot).

If that isnt enough then consider a GTE or GSi interior (black dash, bucket seats), full respray, and then you're on to mechanical....

I really would have a good hunt for rust, and when you find it, decide whether or not you want to fix it or just get a different car next MOT. If you decide to fix it, get it fixed before you do anything else, and make sure its done properly. :)

thx for the quick reply lol, ye bro said the lower and 15s would look nice cheers "long live", ye theres some rust over few ares like, under 2 of the arches, side of door, and at the bottom inside of the door, think the waters been sitting there, but duno how much that would cost, can tell its had sum filler put in alredy, but hopefuly aint to much, ive alredy got rid of the side stickers and the "SPIN" logo lol, so ye what youve said sounds good, colour code it, the indicates are clear allredy, no side skirt on there, got my 6x9s alredy so gona make a stealth shelf, and lower it, thx for that!

Welsh Dan

Don't spray the bumpers white, either touch them up with some bumper-care, or spray them hurricane grey :thumb:.

vipesnova

Welsh Dan

Novas do have rear wipers. For some reason unbeknown to me, some people remove them, and the rear washer.

Jack

Some poverty spec models, and saloons, don't have rear wipers - its likely that your 1.0 won't either.

Hi
i just read through this thread and it sounds like you got some good advice!
I baught my first nova about 4 months ago. its a 1.2Merit, and it is slow as fu*k but ow well.
When i first got it, it was comp standard, and so far i have:
had it lowered 60mm
15" voodo alloys
Exhaust
tints
clear lights
full GSI interior
new Steering wheel (standrd 1 is sh*t!)
flush boot and
d-lock doors.
now im just looking for a mint GSi kit but this is not as easy as it sounds!
once that is on, the last thing im going to do is have it re-spayed in the original met Gray colour and then be done with it!
Might put a few other bits on but not much!
What you think?

Ed

A towbar is for trailers and caravans. You could fit more on the passenger seat than you could in the trailer a 1.0 is capable of pulling :p. And towbars look awful.

Engines are easy enough to replace if it breaks down :).

vipesnova
