Rooney is worth including in the squad just in case they do make it to the semi finals becuase if he does get fit, he raises the quality of the team by such a long way... but to take a chance on a couple of kids is just stupidity.

Lennon should go as he is playing well Defoe bent or fowler have all played international level were as Walcott hasn't even played in the premiership. don't get me wrong hes got great potential but if hes not good enough yet to even make a sub appearance for ****nal he shouldn't be on the plane. And is it just me or has anyone else noted that real have been sh1t since beckham went there? No point in taking 2 cripples in Owen and Rooney either give 1 or the other a chance cant afford to take both though. with the selection he's made there's a slim chance we will do well but no way win it, there is big strength in midfield and some in defence but without the strikers to finish off the games we'll be sitting ducks for draws all the time.

there is a few players who are english an have striking tallent and who are consistant scorers and fit but will they get the chance?? the whole plan is relying on if rooney does become fit, there is a chance of pulling a decent result off if he does but how long will he be out for and will there be any further injury if he comes back too early, plus with the cast on his leg he's not mobile enough to train so it's a risk taking him same with owen,
best off to cut one of them out of the team and make way for another fit striker

but who knows were english so have no right to pick the england team!

should have took fowler, he has the experience and has played well of late. i dont think we will concede much but I dont think we will score at all! Even if beckham can get a good ball in crouch always gets penalised when he goes for anything arial as defenders always seem to crumble round him! Rooney wont be fit, Owen will prob be only half fit so we are gonna struggle, Fowler would have been a great inclusion I mean who else is there??

Frank Lampard scored as many premiership goals this season as wayne rooney did (16), which is only 2 less than darren bent scored who was the top scoring english striker. Its also 4 more than Drogba, and 6 more than Crespo managed to score.

James Beattie did alright and scored 10, which is more than Jermain Defoe managed... but Defoe is on the reserve list and Beattie is not.

Crouch scored less than 10, as did Owen, but fair enough he was out since new year.

How can you justify taking strikers who are either under-performing, unfit, or inexperienced at top level.

The top scoring member of the england squad is a midfield player... allbeit a very good midfield player... but surely if you've got a striker who is available and has scored 18 goals this season, he should be included. Fair enough, Bent only plays for charlton, but he's scored against everyone else.

I dont think he's had the form to get into the england squad for quite some time now. Yes he can cross a ball and his free kicks are alright, but i think he's past his best.

although theo is young so was rooney when he made his first appearance for england, that was a risk and look how that turned out!!! he is quality. rather take him than owen. theo will be 1 of the big name's at the end of this world cup! ill bet any money on it. not sure about leavin wright phillips out though.

Lot of pressure to put on a young kid would be nice if he does do well but if it all goes wrong the pressure of high expectations could ruin his career. Crouch not scored many this season fair enough but hes no an out and out goal scorer. Causes sheer panic in defense's though and makes the space for others to get chances. Fowler would have been best choice experienced natural finisher used to playing with crouch and Gerrard in form and playing with a smile on his face. As for beckham Got Gerrard and lampard to take the free kicks yeh he can cross a ball but if the full back sticks to him (like Carragher when he used to play fullback) He cant do anything. Hargreaves is the 1 that really bugs me. not convinced by sol or rio if neither of them feel like it but not much option to replace them with. Oh well thats my rant over for now.
