Metal flake?? in paint or laquer?? or does it matter which one?

Hi,

Just a quick question... im adding metal flake to my respray when i start, but do i add it to the basecoat? or Laquer? some people tell me to stick it in with the paint, others tell me it goes in the laquer?

SO WHO'S RIGHT?? And most importantly does it matter??

laquer, but then some coats of laquer without the flake in afterwards

yes you put it in the lacquer. You'll need about 7-8 coats of lacquer altogether to do a good job, as you have to flatten out the paint so much because of the flake leaving a very rough surface.

You'll maybe want to finsih it with 1200 then 1500 and possibly 2000 wet and dry then polish.
