cutting spare wheel well out

my spare wheel well is rusty as is other bits in my boot so i wanted to cut the spare wheel well out completly and weld a metal plate over it. so i can also have a centre exit exhaust.


i was wondering if this could be done and if so how hard is it?

quite easy mate - just cut the wheel well out and weld in a flat plate - for added stiffness when its welded in place place a large socket under the flat plat and usind a ball pien hammer - hit from the top - this will make a small dent but tighten up the flat panel, do this in a pattern every now and then and just cover with some sound deadening, without the dents the panel with flex and make a wobble board sound if youre not careful

its easy to cut out mate, but be careful there is a BRAKE PIPE that runs just behind the wheelwell its best to drop the brake pipe down out the way

id recomend X bracing between the chassis rails before plating it
