hi guys, my nova just failed its mot because the front tyres rub the inner arch.

at the moment they are 205/50/16 bridgestones and was wandering what size should i go for?

i dont want to buy tyres then find out they still rub and fail.

cheers

205/45/16 probs a better choice, think theres 205/40/16 out there iswell, they shouldnt rub but dont qoute me on that! just a suggestion:thumb:

What size (i.e. width) are the wheels?

205's are a tad wide for a Nova IMO - mate of mine had TSW Hockenheims on his old SR, lowered 40mm, with 205/45/16 and had issues with rubbing.

As a quick fix for the MOT you could just whack a couple spacers on (assuming that won't push them out too far) lol

i dont now the width of the wheels but i think the offset is 45mm rather than 49mm. i had to get a wide arch kit to fit these wheels.(seems a bit drastic just for the wheels.) i think ill get 205/40/16 as this should be enough.

could always go for a 195 45 16 tyre, will be a bit narrower and have a lower tyre wall

I agree with dannyb go for 195/45/16
I had these when i origonally had 16's with no problem
Personal choice would be the Yoko A539 in above size.

well i worked out the aspect ratio of the wall on 205/40 and it came to 82mm. the 195/45 came to 87.5. i now its only 5mm in it but it might make some difference.

cheers any how

195/45r16 is still larger than the original nova tyre sizes so its the best option out of them all
