2 quick questions!!

hi folks, just gone to replace my steering wheel in my retro project and rewire clocks in so i can move the damn thing - , i have a spare blue/yellow wire behind the clocks? and when ive come to fit my new wheel (replacing astra gte one) the column isnt long enough? even using a standard wheel any ideas why?, i used a wheel puller to remove the old wheel.

The blue/yellow wire, is the second connection for the oil pressure guage on gsi/gte clocks. Just leave it disconnected if you dont have gte/gsi clocks.
