I'm not a complete novice to cars at all-but wot exactly is meant when it is said that a car has colour coded bumpers etc. And also what bodykits do you people out there think suit the nova? I've heard the abyss is good but some people don't like it?

Everyone varies in every aspect of car modifying, thats why you see so many nova's that are all different; its down to individual taste .

Colour coded bumpers, you don't know what that means ???!! :o

It means bumpers that are the same colour as the car itself (chassis, or shell)

Don't bother with bodykits, the best thing to do in my opinion is to go for a nice and original GSi or GTE look (IE, Bumpers, Sideskirts), then add your own personal stuff like wheels, exhaust, vents etc etc .
