The same thing happened to the 2CV that ran a few years back. It didn't win but managed to beat a few cars just because the police never looked at it. A few of the guys were locked up in the cells until the rally was over! Coins the phrase "To finish first, first you must finish".

There was a really funny clip of the 2CV guys jumping up and down with excitment because their car hit 70mph on big down hill section lol

The VW camper is a serious weapon! Its got a 911 engine with nos!! they did the Gumball last year but kept breaking down. It managed 135mph with no top gear :eek:. If its reliable it'll do well this year

Gumball 3000 (last years) was on Extreme Channel Lastnight, showed the camper van being pulled over by the police for doing 120mph, got let off because did'nt believe the timing equipment and that it could go that fast!! Think it's on all this week..
