I have put twin 40's on my GSi the only problem is that the new manifold prevents the oil pipe from the bottom of the sump attaching to the cam carrier - not sure if this is the right description but hope you have an idea of what i mean. Does anybody know which oil pipe i can use instead or how this problem is solved?

Cheers

Cut down the metal section and use a longer rubber section to go through the gap in the manifold.

Thought as much, just wondered what, if any pipes i could use? Or am i going to have to search round a scrappies?

Any coolant hose of the right diameter should do, From memory the pipe from the bottom of the header tank of a mk3 astra might be the right size and is fairly long.

erm if you got the manifold for a 1.6engine then there should be the hole inbetween 3 and 4 to run the pipe that is there as std.......

so what manifold hav eyou got?

Not too sure, i ordered it off Bill B along with the head and lowering bracket for the alternator. No holes in it tho, tempted to drill my own

as stuart has said some have got the holes in them, but dont worry, some havent. the answer to your question was given a long time ago in this thread

you can either risk using a drill (i have contemplated this before) or be lazy like myself and just extend a rubber pipe around the manifold. Here is an old pic before i got mine looking neater but you will get an idea.

Is a water pipe ok to use for oil then? Thought they were different pipes? Nice motor dan how did you tidy it up?
