View Full Version : Boot light
Afternoon all,
I'm heading up the scrappy tomorrow all being well, and i'm after a boot light and switch. I know that these came on GSI/GTE's. Were they used on anything else with the gas strut type switch, eg Astras of Cav's? just looking to make my search a bit easier.
Cheers
Bump
Astras/Cav use a different type of switch iirc.
They have a pin switch on the bootlid.
A nova has a small switch that the boot strut presses in when the boot is shut(i.e. breaking the circuit)

iv got one in mine and its only a merit :D
all tho its been taken out now as it weights to much lol
Yep, I had one on my Merit (Mk2) as well.
Mine( 1.2i spin) didn't have one, it must have been a luxury extra
It does now tho :plol
Mine has one. Mk1 1.2L
I'm guessing it was some kind of luxury extra.
Has anybody else noticed that there is actually a slot in the bonnet for a light as well. I checked with a spare interior light I have and it fits. Didn't leave it in as I couldn't be bothered to do the wiring and it seems a bit pointless.
Ye, some had a bonnet light iirc.

Yeh mines got the boot light switch and its a 1.4 luxe. not got the bonnet 1 but Ive read about it in my Haynes manual.
I always thought bonnet light was a GTE/GSi jobbie?
Cheers lads, I'll have a good nosy round the scrappy tomorrow. Saved me a load of time as i know where not to look.
