X16XE ECU In Nova Location

Where's the best place to put the ECU for an X16XE engine in a nova, my intention was to put it in the glovebox or the small shelf below the glovebox but it seems if I do this I will have to extend the wiring loom (didn't really want to be doing this)

I assume it has to go inside the car to make sure it don't get wet!

On the shelf by the drivers feet.
Then feed the engine loom through by the battery.
