Frontera 2.0l sport fuel filter problem

Hi,

Haven't posted for a while, I am in France at the moment helping some friends with a chalet for next year and have a problem with their Frontera 2.0l sport K'reg.

It ran out of fuel and I'm assuming the filter has blocked up with the crap from the tank as it will run badly but not pull anywhere, problem is I can find it.

I was assuming it would be the same as all the injection vauxhall models with a pump (inside/outside tank) and a filter just before it, had a glimpse at the lines from tank to motor and can't find one and there is no hole in the boot to see the top of the tank.

Does anybody have any suggestions on where the filter is or if there is anything else to get the thing going again.

i remember years ok did on a left hand drive renault van an i am sure the filter was in engine bay .
just trace the pipes from tank to engine it got to be there somewere unless its in the tank

It's not in the engine bay, i'll look again.

If it's in the tank, how do I get to it?
