Aletenator belt rubbin...

I had a 1.2 in me nova and then i got a 1.6 engine put in. But i think its still the 1.2 altenator cos wen i fit my twin webbers and moved the altenator with the new bracket that i got with my inletmanifold. I had to get a longer tensioner but no matter wat way i adjust it the belt rubs off the new bracket. Please help wud changing to a different altenator help. Wat one would i need to get. :confused:

wont a shorter belt help it ?or try an put some spacers on alternator bolts to push it slighly further away.
(there just ideas dont know if they will work)
