1.4 carbed Dizzy, coil and ign module (dont forget the little loom too)

as for fuel pumps.... anything that does about 10psi tops... say a facet redtop. and then get a regulator to bring the pressure down

Is it essential to use an sr coil and loom for my 1.4spi to run on t40s or will it be ok to just use the sr dizzy and spi coil?

so can i just get any carbed 1.4 dizzy and get a performance coil and ignition unit from demon tweeks? without spending a small fortune?
what has every1 else who runs t 40s done?

1.4SR dizzy, 1.4SR coil/module and mini loom.
Thats the easiest and cheapest option.

think dizzys are like ?100 from gm, then the coil and module. the module is ?40ish from AV.
Coilwise just use any gm one that looks the same... yes tis ropey advise but meh its close enough. im using one that i belive is specced for a beetle or soemthing lol.

go to a scrappy and find any 1.4 carb and get all the gear off it.

as a matter of intrest, on the spi engine's, why do you have to run a different dizzy for t40s? I did'nt think the dizzy was linked to the ECU and was strictly mechincal based.

the spi dizzy is simply a hall sensor and a spark aimer.... the ecu gets its info from the hall dizzy... so in order to run without the ecu you need the proper fully kitted up carb dizzy

It will run with a SPI dizzy, just not very well as there will be no timing advance etc.
