Nova Sumps

Will a small block 1.6 XE/1.4XE Sump and gasket fit the 1.3/1.4SR nova engines?

I'm asking this as i can get one cheap, and the gasket is a much better rubber design.

I think they are different.
Im pretty sure the small block 16v's have sumps that bolt to the transmission as well as the block, unlike ohc 8v's.

keith, the rubber ones are actually worse than the cork ones...

with the cork one you need to ream the holes out a little first to make hem a touch bigger than they are (a drill bit and by hand will do). Then RTV each side of it with the block and sumnp spotlessly clean. put togehter and slowly do each bolt up a little at a time going round the sump till its all nipped up just enough to be firm. leave for a few hours then nip each bolt a little more ;) the excess rtv that seeps out should be smered tidily round the outer edge of the joint too... that should stop the mofo from leaking.


the rubber one tends to deform immediately and leaks from the word go lol
