Urgent Help Please

Recently my handbrake cable snapped and I need to know if I can use the same compensating yoke inbetween the long cable, (I think) as the cables I got weren't the original GM parts and look like they've been modified slightly?

mine arnt gm cables either but ive used the same yoke and adjuster nut when i replaced mine a few weeks ago.
